A Recluse

Why I chose to sit and stay,

 than to move out and play

I never knew,rather I never believed

in this world,its structure and society

in the boundaries of qualification

 norms of appreciation
in the rules of competency

and the modes of decency

Ephemeral is what describes them the best

They love to clap and criticize 

than to soak and empathize

They choose to gossip and satirize

than to act and pulverize.

For views are easier to manipulate

as we change the frames in front

from fire to ice; like the rolling dice

like tweaking the hands of a clock

like the mannequin in a cloak.

I live in a world so dark and cold

that to survive and prosper,

you need to be brazen and bold

but such a mean soul am not I 

to sell my soul and cry

I would choose to starve and die.
