Make me insane
for sanity is a trait
dictionary writes
and the world bites.
Make me insensible
for the opposite is what
the heart prescribes
and the mind proscribes.
Make me stoic
for conscience is always in crisis
on the streets they call 'mean'
like a river that dries up
quenching the thirsts of ambition
like the vapour that vanishes
under the heat of lust
blown away by the gush of greed
once they called the breeze of trust.
Make me a man
of shorter words and greater deeds
of deeper blood that never bleeds
of frozen heart that hardly sinks
of steady eyes that seldom blinks
of sturdy hands that never trembles
of tidy mouth that never fails.
Make me a man
to be one among the crowd
still no second to be found
to laugh and cry..to fail anf try.
for saints never belonged to the world
and sages chose to run and preach
rather to stay and teach.
Make me a man
To be around till the hungry feeds,
the blind sees and the dumb speaks.
Till the time I die to give my best
before I sail to the Far Far West
To find You and your waiting arms.
I then lay myself in your lap
To your gentke kiss and touch so warm
I close my eyes for a final nap
With the gleam of passing the final test
To rest forever without unrest.
